C.E.A.S.E meeting in Coeburn

There are always clauses in the contract that allow for more money if there are unforseen circumstance come up. I, personally could care less about it. I pay no taxes as my property is exempt under the Disabled Veterans' clause in the county code.

I have no idea what the "cost" of new HS's cover (is land, desks, uniforms included?), but here's some numbers I've collected recently ...

The new East Rockingham HS :
1,200 capacity - 213,000 square ft. - 90 acres - $42 million ($135 a sq. ft.)

Prince William Co.'s almost-ready Patriot HS :
2200 capacity - 312,067 sq. ft. - 94 acres - $70.7 Mil.

Mingo Co.'s almost-ready Central HS :
900 capacity - 172 K sq. ft. - 75 acres - $74 Mil ($215 / sq. ft.)
($38 Mil. of "earthwork" is being donated, leaving a budget of $36.9 million)

Clarke Co.'s just-started replacement (whuch was the latest to be bid out):
884 students - 162,500 sq. ft. - $28.3 Mil. ($174 / sq. ft.)

Using Clarke, looks like a couple of 1000's could be built for around $65 Mil.

When have you not touted how great Norton and Burton are and how much better they are than the rest of the county? I have never gotten but hurt in any thread especially by you. Yes I have said many times in the political forum that I don't know why I keep coming back and arguing with you. About 35 people from Appy, Pound, BSG, Coeburn, and St. Paul. Meeting to let people know what C.E.A.S.E. is about and what they are trying to accomplish. Alot of people are unaware of what is going on which is real shocking and others think it is useless to talk to their rep. who don't seem to listen or care what they say. Coeburn is for sure not going along with this 2 on 1 plan which their reps. say they are ok with. St. Paul people do not trust this board what so ever and say they struck no deal with perry. Next meeting is in Big Stone this Sun. Jan 16 at 2:00 at Carnes gym. Asking people from Appy to come on down. perry wants people to think this is a done deal but it is a long way from it. it's sad but this group seems to be doing more to bring people in this county together than our elected officals. Hope to see you there. you will for sure find out things about this deal the people of Wise county have not been told!
By the way all reps. from this district were invited to attend and only Robbins showed up. They really care about what their citizens want and have to say or are scared to face them unless they are behind a big desk. Other districts had their reps there and at other meetings in Pound and Appy.
